Our Journey
Koda Health was brought to life after careful evaluation of the problems plaguing America’s healthcare system. Upon meeting through their shared participation in the 2020 Texas Medical Center Biodesign Fellowship, Koda’s three co-founders saw firsthand the importance of defining care prior to a medical emergency. The gaps in this process called Advance Care Planning (ACP), caused frustrations to patients and their families, providers and their care teams, and insurers who were paying for care no one desired. Transforming ACP and allowing for mass accessibility to this service became the core mission of Koda Health.
